Hope Valley Country Market joins South Yorkshire

Following approval by the AGM of South Yorkshire Country Markets held today in Penistone, Hope Valley will become the 6th Market in the South Yorkshire grouping.  A warm welcome was extended at the AGM by the South Yorkshire Chair, Janine Lishman-Peat, to the representatives of Hope Valley who attended.  The decision by Hope Valley to seek membership of South Yorkshire follows the decision to wind up the Derbyshire county society who had only two member Markets at Hope Valley and Derby.  Derby will be joining Staffordshire.  The rationalisation will bring significant savings in overhead costs and will provide Hope Valley with the opportunity to have support from a larger society.
