Country Market Gluten Free Bakers Success at Coeliac UK Meeting

Four of South Yorkshire's Country Market bakers who specialise in producing products using gluten free ingredients set up shop at a recent Sheffield Group meeting of Coeliac UK held on Saturday 8 October.

Lynne Middleton, Carol Gill along with Eunice & John Miller took along a wide range of their products which are available weekly at Penistone and Sheffield to directly reach potential customers who have gluten free diets themselves or know of someone who does.

All the goods taken were virtually sold out and people attending the meeting were made aware of where they could re-stock.  The four Producers hope to repeat their presence at future meetings.

Carol Gill commented that "it was a real pleasure helping in particular new people facing the challenge of a gluten free diet, to realise that it was still possible to have a varied and interesting range of home made food from people who had first hand experience".

Meeting the needs of people with gluten free diets is one example of how Country Market cooks are willing to produce home made baking to suit a range of diets.
