A New Young Producer for Tickhill.....or Not!

30th April 2011

No, it's not the latest new young Producer for Tickhill Country Market, nor is it one of their regular customers!

The young Scarecrow was made by Margery Lockwood, a former Producer from the Market, as an entry to the local Scarecrow Festival.  It was used to promote the Market's usual delicious home-made produce (a selection of cakes is on the table next to the Scarecrow).

She obviously hasn't learnt that Worzel Gummidge was quite capable of eating cakes though!

Tickhill’s second annual Scarecrow Festival takes place on Saturday April 30 and Sunday May 1.  It is organised by Tickhill Together.  As well as seeking the Best Scarecrow, a Scarecrow Fancy Dress Competition for children at Tickhill Institute is also held on the Saturday afternoon.  The overall winners of the Best Scarecrow in the festival is decided by a public vote via voting slips incorporated into the programme on sale over the weekend.
